Chairman of the Council of administration of the National Bank of Moldova
Dorin Drăguţanu holds the position of the Governor of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM) and the Chairman of the Council of Administration of NBM since 6 November 2009. Before his appointment as NBM’s Governor he held the position of Director in the Assurance Department of PricewaterhouseCoopers Serbia. During his career, he has gained profound knowledge and extensive experience in the field of Financial services, International Financial Reporting Standards, International Auditing Standards. In addition, he has developed significantly his skills in identification, assessment and management of the risks within finance and banking systems.
Mr. Drăguţanu started his professional activity in 1996, in a commercial bank in the Republic of Moldova. In 1998, he was hired by PricewaterhouseCoopers Moldova (PwC Moldova) as an Audit assistant. During 2003-2005, he held the position of Country manager in PwC Moldova. In September 2005, Mr Drăguţanu was transferred to PricewaterhouseCoopers Serbia where in 2008 was promoted to the position of Financial Services Director in the Assurance Department. During 2005 – 2009 he has led many audit and due diligence missions in the Financial, banking and insurance sectors from Albania, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Romania and Serbia. Starting with 2006, Mr Drăguţanu was a member of PwC's technical group for Financial Instruments in Central and Eastern Europe. From 2008, he was responsible for risk management in the Assurance Department of PwC Serbia.
Mr. Drăguţanu was born on 19 March 1974 in Chisinau. He graduated the University “Al. I. Cuza”, Iaşi, Romania, Banking and Capital Markets department in 1996.
