In compliance with Law no. 548 –XIII dated July 21, 1995 on the National Bank of Moldova, the Decision of the Government of the Republic of Moldova and of the National Bank of Moldova on Minting and Issuance of Jubilee and Commemorative Coins no.1286 dated December 9, 2005 and according to the Decision of the Council of Administration of the National Bank of Moldova no. 129 dated May 18, 2006, the National Bank of Moldova has, on June 1, 2006, put into circulation as legal tender and for numismatic purpose, the commemorative coin dedicated to the 200th Anniversary from the birth of Alexandru Donici.


A circular border stands out on the edge of both the obverse and the reverse of the coin.
Turning the coin against its vertical axis at an angle of 180 degrees sets the image on the obverse and the reverse of the coin.

Description:

	Obverse: The Coat of Arms of the Republic of Moldova is placed in the central part; The year of issuance “2006” is engraved in the upper part; The wording “50 LEI” is placed in the bottom part; The inscription “REPUBLICA MOLDOVA” in block letters follows the coin circumference.
	Reverse: The effigy of Alexandru Donici is engraved in the central part; A fragment of fable of Alexandru Donici is engraved in the right part; The wording in block letters „ALEXANDRU DONICI” follows the upper part of the coin circumference; The years of life „1806-1865” on a ribbon are engraved in the lower part.
