In compliance with Law no. 548 -XIII dated July 21, 1995 on the National Bank of Moldova, Decision of the Government of the Republic of Moldova and of the National Bank of Moldova on Minting and Issuance of Jubilee and Commemorative Coins no.1286 dated December 9, 2005 and according to the Decision of the Council of Administration of the National Bank of Moldova no. 201 dated July 27, 2006, the National Bank of Moldova issued on August 21, 2006, the commemorative coin “15th Anniversary of the Independence proclamation of the Republic of Moldova”, as legal tender and for numismatic purpose.


A circular border stands out on the edge of both the obverse and the reverse.
Turning the coin against the vertical axis at an angle of 180 degrees sets the image on the obverse and the reverse of the coin.

Description:

Obverse: The Coat of Arms of the Republic of Moldova is placed in the central part; The year of issuance “2006” is engraved in the upper part; The wording “100 LEI” is placed in the bottom part; The inscription “REPUBLICA MOLDOVA” in block letters follows the upper part of coin circumference.

Reverse: The outline of the map of the Republic of Moldova, within which various units are represented, is placed in the central part; 25 stars of different sizes are engraved on the background of the coin; The wordings “PROCLAMAREA INDEPENDENTEI” and “DIN EUROPA SPRE EUROPA” in block letters following the coin circumference are engraved in the upper par; The inscription “1991-2006” flanked by two oak branches is engraved in the lower part.
